VARIATIONS OR CHANGES

The company will use its best endeavours to deliver the service as advertised, discussed verbally, negotiated with a third party or communicated via electronic or written form… However actual sights, flights, routes, aircraft, departure times & flight duration may vary (or even be cancelled) due to weather, operational considerations (including deployment of our helicopter by the RFS (Rural Fire Service) during bushfire/wildfire activity), air traffic control or pilot discretion. The company can give no guarantee of exact arrival or departure time for any service and will not be liable for any failure to make connections to other services or not achieving stated outcomes due to operational considerations beyond our control.

WEATHER / OPERATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

If the weather is inclement on the day of your flight (with no signs of improvement forecasted), the flight may be re-scheduled at a time that is mutually convenient. If you are unable to fly at any other time (i.e. You are leaving Sydney the next day), then no fees are payable by you. The call on the weather is at the absolute discretion of your pilot. We do not depart in heavy rain/poor visibility or when thunderstorms are in the area of flight. Your safety is our number one priority. On occasion, delays can occur for reasons beyond our control (i.e. passing storm / operational considerations). On these occasions the company may exercise a “60-minute wait window”. This means that we will reserve the right to make a decision to fly for up to 60 minutes, in this time period the original booking and all our terms & conditions still stand (please allow for this contingency with your schedule). Unless agreed prior, at no stage is the company financially responsible for how passengers arrive or depart (by land based transport) to or from our base. In case of operational issues, it is advisable for passengers to provide a contact phone number so we can endeavour to make contact if required.

PAYMENTS

A credit card number is required to secure reservations. Unless you request otherwise, it is not charged prior to the flight (unless a 3rd party is paying or you request us to do so). PLEASE NOTE: Your booking will still need to be confirmed by return email to confirm your chosen flight time is available – No agreement is entered into between the two parties until you have received a confirmation from Aerial Click Sydney (Blue Sky Helicopters).

On completion of the flight, passengers may pay by cash, debit or credit card. In the case of a 3rd party (e.g. family member or a company) securing (and paying) for the flight with their credit card, an authorisation (with signature) giving us permission to debit their card is required (please email us for the authorisation form). This needs to be emailed to the company more than 5 days prior to the departure.

If you wish to pay in advance by direct deposit, internet transfer or make an over the counter bank deposit then please make contact with us for our bank account details. Note: Banking & Internet deposits can take up to 48hrs to reach our account where over the counter cash transactions will show up immediately.

Gift certificates can also be purchased & are strictly valid for twelve (12) months from date of issue.

SHARE WITH OTHERS OR PRIVATE CHARTER?

Share with Others means just that… sharing the helicopter with other passengers. i.e. You are purchasing 1 or 2 seats on the helicopter and the remaining seats could be (but not always) occupied by other passengers. Private Charter means that you are securing all seats on the helicopter… You will not be sharing with other people that you do not know. Note: If your flight booking equals *3 or 4 passengers you will automatically qualify for “Private Charter”.

City to Heliport chauffeured car option also available for just $75 each way (Ford G6E Falcon/Holden Caprice) or a Mercedes S Class or a BMW 7 series chauffeured car for an additional $95 each way. Note: Aircraft type & seating positions are subject to a weight & balance calculation on the day of the flight and are decided at the absolute discretion of the Pilot in Command.

CANCELLATION POLICY

No fees are payable if Blue Sky Helicopters cancels the flight due to weather or other operational contingency.

Cancellation (by passengers) within seven days of flight date will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellation (by passengers) within two days of flight date (or a no-show) will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Cancellation fees will be automatically debited from the credit card that was given to secure the booking.

Bookings made during peak periods (August 31st – March 31st) and/or on public holidays (including the Christmas/Easter period) which are cancelled within fourteen days (prior to the departure date) will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee. Refunds of payments made through 3rd party booking agents must be sought from the booking agent. To cover administration and credit card fees, any refunds given (for cancellations) outside the above times will be subject to a 5% refund charge deducted from the total flight cost.

Passengers who wish to cancel a reservation are required to notify our office via email and are not considered cancelled until our office has acknowledged and confirmed the request.

PASSENGER OBLIGATIONS

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and passengers is our number one priority. The company & it’s employees reserve the right to deny carriage/boarding (without refund) to any person who behaves at any stage with an intent to deceive or in a disorderly, intoxicated, threatening or offensive manner to our flight/ground crew or other passengers. Under Civil Aviation law, passengers are also reminded that any such behaviour may result in a criminal prosecution.
Baggage and personal belongings (if allowed onboard by the pilot) are carried entirely at the passenger’s own risk. It is also a requirement (that at time of booking) you inform us of any passengers that have a physical or intellectual handicap (this is for no other reason than to help us help you).

OUR OBLIGATIONS

Our duty is to minimise risk by making safety our primary focus and at the same time, to provide memorable experiences for our passengers. We own all our helicopters & are fully certified by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) to operate under Air Operator Certificate (AOC) number S551971-09.

We hold all legally required insurances including a certificate of compliance under the Civil Aviation Carriers Liability Act. We strongly recommend that you only fly with a long established company (such as ours) that has it’s own AOC and company owned aircraft and not one that is operating in conjunction with or under the AOC of another company. You can conduct an AOC search here on the CASA website.

OTHER INFO WE NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT

Minimum passenger numbers of two apply to all Aerial Click Sydney (ACS) “Share with Others” flights. Minimum age for travel (for ACS) is 16 years of age. All prices quoted throughout our website, printed material & online advertising are in Australian dollars & include GST (Goods & Services tax). The prices on our website are always up to date and will always be honoured.

Operating under our own Air Operating Certificate (AOC), we don’t always claim to offer the cheapest flights or tours but we are one of the best at it – Quality & cheap are not usually in the same sentence, especially in aviation! Our reputation in this industry speaks volumes.

AIRCRAFT LIMITATIONS

All flights are subject to the aircraft operating within its weight and balance/performance limitations as specified in the aircraft flight manual and the Company Operations Manual. Every flight has a maximum allowable total weight for passengers. Our Onboard HD Helicam system is also subject to operational considerations.

Passenger/s will need to inform us at the time of booking of all individual passenger weights (inclusive of clothing). This is also confirmed on the day of flight as passengers are weighed prior to departure. Please note: Giving an incorrect weight for a single passenger or a group at time of booking, could result in cancellation of the seat/s on the day of the flight (with penalty) if it causes us operational difficulties, (i.e. the actual weights will contribute to an excess greater than our aircraft maximum take-off weight). Flight prices are based on standard passenger weights. Individual passengers (or a group of) in excess of 100kg per person (220lb/16 stone) may effect quoted prices.

PRIVACY

Any information we receive via this web site or directly from you will be considered private and will never be passed on to any third party.

Have we missed anything? Are you unsure about certain aspects of our Terms & Conditions? If so, please make contact with us for clarification as our Terms & Conditions form the basis of our agreement if you want to fly with Aerial Click Sydney (Blue Sky Helicopters). We hope to see you soon…

FAQ

What time and on what days do you fly?

Our passengers choose the time they wish to fly! Rather than schedule flights at set times we offer flights to suit our passengers itinerary. We normally start flight operations at 9.00am and finish at 8:00pm (in summer) and 5:00pm (in winter). We are open 7 days a week.

Is it safe?

We are as interested in safety as you are. Our duty is to minimise risk by making safety our primary focus and at the same time, to provide memorable experiences for our passengers.

At Blue Sky Helicopters, our passenger’s safety is paramount, it will always come first. We have a 100% safety record and have never been issued with any form of reprimand or non-compliance. You’ll be flying in our Robinson R44, MD500E or Bell 206 Longranger with the most experienced tour pilots based at Sydney Airport! (Read Company Profile here).

We are a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Certified Air Carrier and embrace the regulations, however we believe these regulations are set down as the minimum required. Our operations are subject to a higher level of safety exceeding the regulatory requirements.

All passengers are given a thorough safety briefing prior to flight including use of lifejackets (if flying over or near water), operation of doors, seatbelts and general safety awareness around the helicopter.

Can I bring my own camera gear?

No problem (please make sure it has a strap or a way of being tethered). Your seat cost also includes (if you need) the use of a full frame Canon EOS 6D and suitable lens for aerial photography. You are also welcome to bring your iPhone etc so you can blog/Facebook live/Instagram as you fly!

*All equipment and phones are tethered to the aircraft for safety. Limit of two camera bodies/two lenses and a smartphone/GoPro etc per person (i.e. Three items per photographer / No lens changes allowed in flight).

Do we share the helicopter with other passengers/photographers?

Because quality and choice is so important to us, we offer you two options…“Share with Others” or “Private Charter”.

Share with Others means just that… sharing the helicopter with other passengers. i.e. You are purchasing 1 or 2 seats on the helicopter and the empty seat or seats could be (but not always) occupied by other passengers.

Private Charter means that you are securing all the seats on the helicopter… You will not be sharing with other people that you do not know. Even If you are a single passenger or a group of 2,3 or 4, you can still Private Charter the helicopter & cancel out the possibility of the remaining seat/s being sold!

What time would you recommend for the best images?

Whether you choose to fly in the morning, afternoon or early evening (in Summer), it is always a good time to fly! Our pilot’s favourite time for great image capture though is mid morning for shots looking back towards the Opera House & Harbour Bridge or late afternoon/sunset for great golden light over the City!

How far ahead do I need to book?

We request that passengers/photographers book as far in advance as possible as this will enable you to choose the exact time you wish to fly. If you are visiting Sydney, we suggest you book your flight early in your stay, this way if your pilot determines that weather conditions on the day of your flight are not suitable, you will have options for re-scheduling. For single photographer bookings, please be sure to give us a range of dates so we can hook you up with someone else to shoot with (Minimum two photographers required to get airborne).

What time do I need to be at the airport and is there parking?

We request that passengers check-in no more than 15 minutes prior to departure. Parking is available free of charge outside our building at 462 Ross Smith Ave, Sydney Airport.

What happens if I cancel or fail to show after I have booked a flight?

What if the weather is bad on the day of my flight?

If the weather is inclement on the day of your flight, the flight may be re-scheduled at a time that is mutually convenient. On these occasions the company may also exercise a “60-minute wait window”. This means that we will reserve the right to make a decision to fly for up to 60 minutes, in this time period the original booking and all our terms & conditions still stand (please allow for this contingency with your schedule). If we are unable to provide the service for your chosen day and you are unable to fly any other day, we will offer you a 100% refund or a voucher valid for 12 months. Please note it’s always the pilot’s call on the weather.

Can you pick us up from the City?

We can arrange a chauffeured car for either $75 each way (Ford G6E Falcon or corporate van) or $95 each way for one of the Mercedes S Class or the BMW 7 series vehicles. (total cost for up to 4 passengers).

Catching an UBER or cab is another option (just 20-minutes from the City in non peak hours). If you decide to drive yourself to the heliport, our car park is free to use.

Lastly there is the Airport Train… Take the (Airport & East Hills) train to the Domestic Terminal, after exiting the station, hop on the Long Term Car Park Courtesy bus (5-minute drive) which will drop you at the Long Term Car Park only. From here, walk for 5 minutes (North) back up Ross Smith Ave. Our building is the first building on your left just past Hammond Place.

Note: The cost of the train is around $17 per person each way (periodical ticket holders are also required to purchase an additional GatePass to use AirportLink stations). Around $13.00 each way… Therefore for groups of two or more an UBER or taxi could be a better option.

What should we wear?

Passengers should wear similar clothing to what they would wear on a car trip, we also suggest a sweater or jacket in the cooler months.

How do you reduce the impact of your operations on the people you fly over?

Blue Sky Helicopters is a member of the Helicopter Association International. We incorporate the associations “Fly Neighbourly” program into our flight operations. This initiative promotes the operation of helicopters in such a way that minimises the noise impact to the community and the environment. This is accomplished, for example, by establishing and following routes that limit exposure to the public, employing pilot techniques that reduce the noise signature of the helicopter and by flying at higher than normal altitudes in noise sensitive areas.

Abstract
Abstract
Abstract aerial photography is a means of depicting a visual image that does not have an immediate association with its surrounds. Discuss this option with your pilot prior to flight as we have lots of secret spots that can make amazing images.

Air to Air photography is an exciting experience not only because we bring you up close to the big jets, but it’s very challenging as the subject is constantly moving. Available on selective days & for private charter bookings only.
